and so to sleep............

Sleep! - an overrated commodity?????

So , my children are alittle confused by the concept of sleep.
N01 son didnt sleep through the night till he was over thirteen months and although the darling diva sleeps, she just doesn't do it for long!! and she talks in her sleep, full on conversations about going to the doctors or brushing her hair etc....... quite disconcerting at three in the morning when you are awoken to crying because she doesn't want that hair clip in?!? WTF?!?

Both seem to have a natural wake up time of about half five which in my mind is technically still night - and on top of this we now have the puppy who in actual fact is more like a new born just dressed in a fluffy baby gro - he seems to need attention every few hours during the night!!!!!  So you can imagine what my thirty five year old face looks like at the moment!! I am using match sticks to keep my eyes open and any eye cream that promises miracles - they lie!!! especially those roll on eye creams. all they do is give you tender bags under the eyes, or maybe i am rubbing to hard! after all its not an eraser just a cream!!!!!!!

People tell me that it will all change when they are teenagers, then I will be waking them up to go to school etc....    I just need to fantasise now thats all!!!  Although saying that, if they do sleep in for whatever reason (and trust me its a one in a million trillion when they do) I start to panic thinking something is wrong, and then I end up checking that they are still breathing and therefore disturbing them in the process!!! When will i learn!!!!!!

  1. No one ever told you this side of motherhood did they Kate?? Sleep deprivation was not on the list! Am sure they will get better, but just rememeber this......'when they are small they break your back, but when they get older they can break your heart'! Enjoy!
